Andrea Canepari’s docufilm Il tempo lungo will be presented at the 5th International Documentary Festival Visioni dal Mondo, Immagini dalla Realtà in Milan (September 12-15, at Teatro Litta and Museo Nazionale Scienza e Tecnologia Leonardo Da Vinci). The docufilm’s protagonist, Demesio Lusardi, played the role of Censo Dalcò in Bertolucci’s 1900 and was involved in the movie along with his entire family. After the film, Lusardi returned to work the land. More than forty years, Canepari set out to find him.
Lusardi tries to contact Robert De Niro, Gérard Depardieu and Donald Sutherland to invite them for dinner. A central theme of the docufilm, along with Lusardi, are the locations of 1900: Agazzano, Gragnano, Caorso, Diolo, Roncole, and the farmstead ‘Corte Le Piacentine’, which was transformed into a movie set during the eleven months of shooting.
