This year Parma showcases its culture under the slogan “La cultura batte il tempo”, highlighting its past artistic and historic glories with its present-day cultural innovations. The northern Italian city was selected by a jury which described Parma as “a virtuous and extremely high-quality example of local culturally based planning”. The opening of Parma 2020 Italian city of Culture, presented three days of events, exhibitions, concerts, performances and theatre, and throughout 2020 Parma will be offering a rich programme of cultural events, from exhibitions to opera and screenings of Bernardo Bertolucci’s films.
