Also in Venice, in the Classics section, The Grim Reaper is in competition in the version restored by the Cineteca Nazionale in collaboration with RTI-Mediaset. Bertolucci’s debut film, released for the first time in Italian cinemas in November 1962, The Grim Reaper was released last February 13 in France under the title Les Recrues, restored and distributed by Les Films du Camélia.
The official screening will be in the Sala Casinò, Wednesday 4 September 5pm, while the rerun is scheduled for Thursday 5 September at 2am in the Sala Volpi.
